Too Long

It has been too long since a post. Reese had a great third birthday. She had a blast watching Bob the Builder. Reese is getting used to the idea of a baby in her house so hopefully March will not be too difficult for her. Pictures of Reese to follow.

Big Girl Seat

Well, we finally did it. This week we took out the car seat and put in the booster, or as Reese calls it :my pink flower seat". She was so difficult to put in and out of a car seat, and the ages on the booster (with a back) say to start at 4. We called the doctor and as long as she met the height (38 inches, she is 39), and the weight (40 lbs, she is 42) she could get one. It is so much easier. When she got her seat belt on for the first time she started smiling and yelling "whoohoo, whoohoo, whoohoo." It was so funny.

Ballet Camp

Reese had a week at ballet camp and really enjoyed it.  At first she did not want to get dressed in her leotard, but once she saw all of the big girls dressed she was so excited!!!!!!  She loves to dance and would say "I need to go to ballet camp and see all my new friends!"  She had a blast.  She was the youngest in the class, but she seemed to do well.  It took a while for her to listen and actually follow the teachers directions, but she finally did.  She also did her very first somersault.  She would never do one at the gym so this was exciting.  Hopefully I can download pics tomorrow.  Once I get the UMS cheerleading pictures I will download them as well.  For now, we are off to the Bass Pro Shop.  With 100 degree weather you try to find anything that is remotely cool and entertaining.

Blueberries, Biscotti and Panties

I am watching a cute 2.5 year old eat biscotti, blueberries and sit at her little table.  What a big girl.

Well, yesterday Reese and I had our first official vacation day together.  It was great.  THe selective potty did get better as well.  For those who do not know Reese has been potty trained since she turned two.  Only potty trained at school.  Yep, she would TT and the first girl to poop and for Charles and I, nothing.  So yesterday I put her big girl panties on.  She did wonderfully and I did put on a pull-up for her nap.  No accidents, wonderful.  She woke up a tt'd in the pull-up.  I asked her what she did.  She said "I'm wearing a pull-up".  Yep, she uses the pull-up because she can.  So, I will be careful from now on.  Pull-ups only when we must wear them.

This week at the Gym

Well, this week at the Gym we practiced for next weeks Showcase.  It is so funny how Reese is totally with the group and doing what she should, and then she is totally not listening.  The life of a two year old!!!!  Reese also made a hand print today at the Gym.  Too cute of an idea!

Rainbows

Lots of thunder since the early morning, but really no rain. Today was a dreary day but special. Reese saw her first real rainbow.

Child Proof Caps

Somehow I forgot this yesterday. So, I thought the purpose of a child proof cap was to not allow children into the medication. Yesterday, thanks to my mother, Reese did not overdose on Tylenol although she easily opened the bottled. Child proof caps. Yeah right.

Today, We Played

As I type this Reese and I have enjoyed another wonderful Spring Break day. She is painting (and making a mess). She has been sick, so her mood changes a lot. Mom came over today to visit and bring lunch. We decided to get some fresh air. Here are some pics.

Easter Morning

We did not get many pictures, but we did get these. Reese found her basket from the Easter bunny. He brought a cute new outfit, several pairs of PJ's, and of course a mint julep cup the celebrate the holiday. It's a tradition!

Our Anniversary

Oh yeah! Charles and I also celebrated our 6th anniversary yesterday. I just had to add that.

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a very happy Easter Sunday. Of course ours was busy, but enjoyable. By the time we ate lunch we had very few photos!!! Mother and I will try to take some this week to post. I have to say Reese's dress was beautiful. I am really lucky to have a mother who not only will smock for Reese, but for Easter and Christmas will actually make a French Handsewn Dress!!!! This one was so perfect with the most beautiful shadow embroidery (and yes, by hand). Thanks Coco!!

You know you need a picnic table!

Yep, my brother Joseph has no idea I did this. Anyway, he built a really fab. table for Reese to have at moms. According to a friend "very kid friendly" with the rounded corners and all metal covered. Great wood too! Anyway, I am commissioning him to make one for my house, and I am sure he would take others as well. They can be any color you want. Cara

Big Fish and Angelina

So, Good Friday was our first day of break. Reese woke up and told me she wanted to go to the library or the book store. So, to keep her occupied we went to the Bass Pro Shop to see the fish (Look at the big fish mommy!!!!!) and then Barnes and Noble. Reese got on the stage at B&N and bagan to twirl and say "I'm Angelina Ballerina" over and over again.
